<p class="MsoNormal">As a longtime law librarian, I love having the option of the print copy – because the topical index is not available online- it’s a different way to search. However, The Michigan Compiled Laws as published by the state are no longer published
in print. If the set is not kept current, it is useless for current research, and somewhat dangerous because it reflects old law.

<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If your set is a set published by LexisNexis or Thompson Reuters, and your budget and shelf space permit you to keep the print current, it can be a great asset.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">That being said, I find myself using the online version almost exclusively.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">If you do remove it, you may wish to consider keeping the latest index volumes – because they could be used with the current version of the law online. Even older index volumes could be useful because the online version of the statutes
at the Michigan legislature’s site is current.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">It may be worth it to note that the state made the online version its official copy some years ago.
