This is our policy for jury duty (applies to all staff, salary & hourly): An employee who is called to serve and does serve on jury duty will be provided with an approved paid leave for the duration of the jury service. The employee must give the Library prior notice that they have been summoned for jury duty.

If a salaried employee is called for Jury Duty, the employee's regular pay shall be maintained by the library for a period of, but not to exceed 5 working days. Salaried employees are required to reimburse the library for the jury pay received (Excluding travel reimbursements) while regular pay is maintained. Jury duty beyond 5 days required a leave of absence without pay. Hourly employees will not receive compensation from the library for jury duty.

So, my question is how do other libraries treat jury duty and employee pay? Current jury duty pay in the state is a measly $30 a day for the first 5 days and $45 afterwards. Since my hourly employees make more than $15 an hour, they will be losing money. Doesn't seem fair.
