There is no set schedule associated with the Substitute Librarian position and hours vary based on need. Ability to work weekday hours is preferred, but evening/weekend availability is also acceptable. Position pay starts at $20.00 hourly. </span><br /> <br /> <br /><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Essential Functions</span></strong></span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Provides information, reference, and referral services in Adult and Youth Services.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Provides instruction in the use of print and digital resources.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Assists with programming as needed.</span><br /> <br /> <br /><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong><span style="font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Minimum Qualifications</span></strong></span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;">Masters Degree in Library Science from an accredited ALA college or university.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Excellent oral and written communication skills.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Physical strength and dexterity to handle materials and boxes up to 25 pounds in weight and to transport loaded book carts.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Ability to work as needed during the library’s regular hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30am - 8pm; Friday 1-5pm; Saturday 9:30am-5pm; Sundays 1-5pm (during the school year)</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Knowledge of online databases, reference resources, and public computer applications to assist the general public.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Experience with the Polaris LEAP automation system.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Knowledge of popular reading trends.</span><br /><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: tahoma, arial, helvetica, sans-serif;"> Knowledge of tablet and/or mobile devices used for accessing Overdrive, Hoopla, and other digital services.</span></div>
