<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.1in;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><b>JOB SUMMARY:</b> The person in
this position plans and executes services and programs for the Youth Services
and Teen Services Departments of the public library, including materials
selection, reference and readers advisory services, programming, outreach, and
any other library-related work as required. They oversee development of the
library’s youth and teen collections, including reference materials and
electronic collections. Additionally, they provide service to the public
required at the library’s service desks. They occasionally act as Librarian in
Charge (LIC) in the absence of the library director and assistant director. A

Students currently enrolled in a graduate program of library and information studies will be considered for the position at a lower starting pay rate until they have received the degree. </p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif"><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0in 0in 0.0001pt;line-height:107%;font-size:11pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">Previous experience
working in a public library setting and/or working with children is highly
desirable. </p>

requires a commitment to customer service excellence, excellent oral and
written communication skills, expertise with computer technology and an
understanding of its potential in providing high quality library services. The
successful candidate must have the ability to organize multiple assignments and
to work independently. The position requires demonstrated initiative and a
creative approach to attaining departmental goals as well as the ability to
enforce library policies and procedures.
