<div dir="ltr"><div> The first presentation of the Cairns & Beacons lecture and discussion series will be this Thursday, September 14th at 7pm. Philosopher and educator Elizabeth Minnich will be speaking on her ideas presented in the book <i>The Banality of Evil. </i>
Why is thinking important? Which ways of thinking develop independence,
creativity, and individual responsibility? Are these connected to ‘good’
acts? Is there a relation between not thinking and irresponsibility,
“just following orders,” not wandering from status quo, and “keeping my
head down”? Are there connections between these ‘bad,’ even ‘evil’ acts? <br></div><div><br></div><div> There will be a discussion of these ideas on the following Thursday, September 21st at 7pm. You and your patrons are welcome to join us for the presentation and participate in the discussion. <br></div><div><br></div><div> Use this case sensitive Zoom link to join: <a href="https://bit.ly/CairnsAndBeacons">https://bit.ly/CairnsAndBeacons</a></div><div> <br></div><div> There will be 7 more Cairns & Beacons presentations and discussions.
