<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The <a href="https://www.samhsa.gov/sites/default/files/988-factsheet.pdf" target="_blank">988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline</a> is a 24/7 toll-free nationwide hotline, made up of a network of independently
operated and funded local call centers (200+) across the country.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">As of July 16, 2022, 988 will be the new three-digit dialing code connecting people to the existing National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), where compassionate care and accessible support is available
for anyone experiencing mental health-related distress—whether that is thoughts of suicide, mental health or substance use crisis, or any other kind of emotional distress. People can also dial 988 if they are worried about a loved one who may need crisis support.

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Stream the webinar featuring <a href="https://www.lena.org/covid-infant-vocalizations-conversational-turns/">data from Dr. Jill Gilkerson</a>, chief research and evaluation officer at LENA, and Dr. Sean Deoni,
associate professor of diagnostic imaging and piediatrics at Brown University, contrasting the early language experiences of children born before and after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In separate studies, both researchers used <a href="https://www.lena.org/technology/">LENA
technology</a> to measure children’s language environments and found that the children born after the start of COVID vocalized less and experienced fewer conversational turns than their peers born before the pandemic. Infants, male babies, and children from

teens (ages 13-18) and works with a dedicated systemwide staff of Teen Services Librarians and teen volunteers to provide innovative and transformative virtual library experiences for teens through the server. Matthew’s efforts are recognized and consulted
by library professionals from state, national, and international sectors, and he co-presented about this work at ALA’s 2022 LibLearnX conference as well as co-authored a case study for Computers in Libraries Magazine.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
