As our schools’ staff and students across the state are recovering from the pandemic and are also experiencing challenges affecting our students' right to read, it is even more important that all staff and students have access to the resources, services, and experiences provided by certified school librarians. School libraries are “more than books.” School librarians are teachers, literacy and reading experts, information specialists, program administrators, and leaders within their schools who positively impact student achievement.</span></div>

<div>MLA Connect <span style="color:rgb(7,7,6)">Advocacy</span> <span style="color:rgb(7,7,6)">Hours </span>are an opportunity for the library community to learn more about MLA's advocacy and legislative priorities including funding, elections, property taxes, literacy, internet access, privacy, intellectual freedom, and more. Each month, we will address a new topic and share any pending legislation introduced in the House or Senate that could impact the Michigan library community. Monthly sessions will take place generally on the third Thursday of the month at 10:00 AM.</div>
