Legal Issues: Millage Proposals and Millage Campaigns<br>
Attorney, Anne Seurynck will provide an overview of the library millage process from a legal perspective. Participants will learn the dos and don'ts of ballots and campaigning in Michigan. Since libraries in Michigan are meant to be funded by local support,
in many situations that means a millage. (2.5 hours)<br>

Tools for a Successful Millage Campaign<br>
Long-time Kent District Library trustee and library millage campaign consultant Shirley Bruursema will cover the tools for a successful millage campaign including:<br>
•Forming a yes committee and who is involved<br>
•How to know how much to ask for<br>
•Functions of a yes committee and recommendations for timing around a millage<br>
•How to win a millage campaign successfully<br>
