<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-left:.5in">Over the past few years, there has been a sizable turnover in youth services staffing. Seasoned storytellers are retiring, being promoted, or moving on to use their skills in new ways. Libraries are hiring a wonderful
new group of staff to continue the tradition of offering high-quality storytimes in their communities. This tutorial is meant to support those who are new to storytime. It covers basic skills, like preparing for storytime, reading books out loud, using props
and music, and engaging adults and children. Each section has an interactive module filled with useful information, examples, and videos. There are also links to documents and online resources that will support your storytime practice. <br>
It should take you around five hours to complete the entire tutorial. Some sections are longer than others and some are shorter. Some of the information you may just want to skim over for now and go back to it when you need it. After you have completed the
training, please fill out the evaluation at the end for ICL’s records. Storytime is a magical event. Each program is a big deal in the life of a young child. During this tutorial, you will learn how to make your storytimes meaningful and impactful for your
audience. <br>

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Donation Grant<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Donation Grant was created to help build collections and bring books into the lives of children in preschool programs, faith-based reading projects, homeless shelters, charter schools, underfunded libraries,
and other community organizations. The Coretta Scott King Book Awards Committee believes children’s lives must be saturated with books and reading opportunities. An enduring message of the Committee's Public Awareness Campaign is that books and reading can
only add value to children's lives if books are present with opportunities to read. The Book Donation Grant addresses these objectives.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Do you wonder what research really says about how to support school readiness? Based on a comprehensive review of cognitive and developmental psychology, the key findings in Reimagining School Readiness aim to surface the skills and conditions
that matter most for a child's success in school and life, and to guide educators and others (including families) in designing learning experiences and environments to support this development.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Attendees will gain insights into the current research behind the skills and conditions that matter most for a child's success in school and life. The workshop will include an overview of BADM's Reimagining School Readiness Toolkit that

collection and an inclusive one and walk through the logistics of performing a diversity audit of your collection. The examples and resources provided in this session will focus on youth collections; however, the methodology of performing a diversity audit,
and the reasons to do so, are universal to all collections.<o:p></o:p></p>
