<p class="MsoNormal">For those libraries around the state that offer Digitization Labs to their residents/cardholders like our library (Dearborn Public Library) does, do you convert reel-to-reel 8mm film (video) to digital format? If so, what equipment are
you using to do the conversion? Are you satisfied with its reliability?<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">We offered the service for the few patrons who brought in 8mm/Super8 film reels, but recently had to suspend converting that format due to the unreliability of the hardware we are using (Wolverine unit for about $300 that only accepts 3”-5”
reels, not 7” or larger). It would keep stopping and have to be restarted, even if the reels were visibly in great condition.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Do any libraries out there have other brands of 8mm/Super8 film converters that are more commercial grade as opposed to consumer grade? If money were no option, what would you like to purchase that you don’t have?<o:p></o:p></p>
