<p>Dear Michlib people,</p>
<p>This is a brief note of introduction, I am the current president
of the <b>Upper Peninsula Publishers & Authors Association</b>.
This group has been empowering U.P authors to write and promote
their work since 1998. We are online at <a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.UPPAA.org">www.UPPAA.org</a> for the
main site and membership is open to everyone in the state of
Michigan and beyond who has or had a U.P. connection in their
lives.</p>
<p>Our most exciting new outreach programs are the <b>UP Notable
Books Award </b>which selects 10 outstanding U.P. books every
year and the accompanying <b>UP Notable Books Club</b> which
celebrates the authors with Zoom chats free to the public. The
U.P. Notable Books Club is jointly sponsored by the Crystal Falls
District Community Library, Evelyn Gathu , Director. We would
encourage you to invite your own patrons to participate in these
once-a-month opportunities to meet the authors in person and ask
questions.</p>

<p>Personally, I am also the president of Loving Healing Press and
its imprint Modern History Press. We are publishers of the <i>U.P.
Reader</i> and other award-winning books about Michigan
including <i>Points North</i>: D<i>iscover Hidden Campgrounds,
Natural Wonders, and Waterways of the Upper Peninsula </i>by
Mikel Classen (winner of the Historical Society of Michigan Award
2020) and the just released <i>Superior Tapestry: Weaving the
Threads of Upper Michigan History</i>. The outreach for my
company includes donating dozens of copies of our publications
through the Superiorland Library Co-op. If your library would
like a selection of our titles, I'd be happy to donate some for
your evaluation at no cost or obligation.<br>
