<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">The article’s title is “New Shells,” with an accompanying photo spread called “Modern Houses Across America,” in the Aug 15, 1949 issue. While the Saxton house in Flint is not the focus, and Dow is not named,
it does discuss several other architects, construction trends, and large contractors building moderately priced (!) homes in Flint, San Francisco, and Levittown. The text for this article is in Academic Search Complete.

<p class="MsoNormal">A patron is looking for an article that allegedly appeared in a 1949 issue of
<i>Time</i>, possibly the week August 15, entitled “Modern Houses Across America.” The article has been described to include information on architects such as Alden B. Dow and Frank Lloyd Wright. She is specifically interested in the article because it’s said
to include information about the only Dow home built in Flint for Millard Saxton seen here:

<p class="MsoNormal">This <i>Time</i> article is referenced in an article by Dwell and in other blogs, and the partial citation was given to the patron by the Alden Dow studio. Before coming to us for help, she had scoured the ToCs of several years of
<i>Time </i>and found nothing; we also found no article in <i>Life</i> by this title, only a reference from 1937. Searching the
<i>Time </i>vault, to which I don’t have full access, yielded nothing to indicate an article by this title.<o:p></o:p></p>
