<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-autospace:none">I would like to welcome Kate Van Auken as the next Director of the White Pine Library Cooperative. Kate has been the director of the Rawson Memorial Library in Cass City for the last seventeen years and served
as a Library Board member for two years previous to that. She has her Master’s degree in Library & Information Science from Wayne State University.
<span style="font-size:12.0pt">She enjoys library advocacy and working to let the community decide what they want to have available. She is a strong proponent of community involvement. Kate, as director of Rawson, has been a member of White Pine for those seventeen
years, serving as Board President for part of that time. She looks forward to working with the Board to grow White Pine and we are very excited to have her step into this leadership position. Kate will start at the White Pine offices in mid-July to spend some
time learning with outgoing director Bryon Sitler before he retires at the end of the month.
