<p class="MsoNormal">The Lansing Community College Library is seeking a part-time reference and instruction librarian to join our team. Individuals who are collaborative, student centered and possess excellent customer service skills are encouraged to apply.

<p class="MsoNormal">Reference and Instruction Librarians assist students and employees with their academic research and general information needs, provide in-person and virtual reference assistance, teach information literacy skills utilizing a variety of
instructional delivery modes and technologies, serve as library liaison to academic departments, participate in collection development activities, and develop web content, tutorials and library research guides.

<p class="MsoNormal">Required: <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Master’s degree in Library Information Science (MLS) from an ALA accredited program or within 6 months of completion.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Experience providing reference service / research help as assigned job duties
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Library instruction or teaching experience<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Strong knowledge of print and electronic information resources
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Preferred: <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Academic library experience<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Background in medical and / or science <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Familiarity with web content development, mobile and web technologies
<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Excellent communication, problem solving and teamwork skills<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">• Demonstrated initiative, flexibility and self-direction<o:p></o:p></p>
