Buchanan is a quiet community of about 4500 people located in Berrien County in the extreme Southwest corner of the State. It sits within a 20 mile radius of the Lake Michigan shoreline and the University of Notre Dame, and is roughly 90 miles from Chicago. The library enjoys a good deal of support from the 9,000 patrons in its service area, and is currently undergoing a building renovation.
