<p class="MsoNormal">To all public libraries. <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Public Act 59, 1964, directs the Library of Michigan to send a written notice every year to county treasurers and clerks. This notice lists the legal public libraries and county library boards eligible to receive penal fine money, as specified
in Section 2 of the Public Act. The penal fine revenue should be distributed on a per capita rate. The rate is calculated by dividing the total penal fines collected and earned interest amount by the total certified population of the county.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">On or before August 1<sup>st</sup>, each eligible public library should be paid a per capita amount based on its total population as certified by the Library of Michigan.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Please contact your county treasurer if you do not receive your penal fine distribution.<o:p></o:p></p>
