<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">The Grant Area District Library is seeking

an experienced, team-oriented Youth Services Assistant to oversee the operation

of the library’s Youth Services Department.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";"> This person

provides professional library information services to children (ages birth

through 17), their parents and caregivers. Such services include reader’s

advisory, reference services, planning and conducting programming and

coordinating community outreach.</span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">Required Qualifications:

<br />Associates

degree or 2 years of college</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">; possession of a valid

Michigan Driver’s License; </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">training and/or experience in early childhood education</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">; ability to work 30-34 hours per week including evening and weekend

hours.</span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText" style=""><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">Preferred Qualifications:

<br />Bachelor’s Degree in a youth or library related field; previous

experience working in a public library setting; </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif"; letter-spacing: -0.1pt;">awareness of children & teens current reading,

viewing and listening interests and habits; p</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif"; letter-spacing: -0.1pt;">roven ability to work collaboratively with outside organizations,

including schools; demonstrated initiative and accountability.</span><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";"></span></p>

<p class="MsoPlainText"><span style="font-size: 12pt; font-family: "Arial", "sans-serif";">Pay: $10.00-$13.00/hr (DOQ)</span></p>
