<p class="MsoNormal">In the context of the growing popularity of digital resources, declining reference and circulation transactions, and falling gate counts, collecting feedback about the unique needs and preferences of twenty-first century library users has
never been more pertinent and important. But collecting that data can be expensive, especially for small libraries. This is particularly true in times of shrinking budgets.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Fortunately, there are plenty of free options when it comes to surveying your service population. Depending on your needs, you may choose a high tech option like Google Forms or a low tech option like a white marker board. Paul Meek Library
at the University of Tennessee at Martin conducted user satisfaction surveys using both high tech and low tech options in the spring of 2016, the results of which were surprisingly similar.<o:p></o:p></p>
