LibraryLinkNJ is the single, statewide, multi-type library cooperative in New Jersey, working in partnership with its 2,000 multi-type member libraries and the New Jersey State Library to provide access to excellent library services for 8.79 million residents in twenty-one counties. With a $1.84 million annual budget and 6 FTE system staff, LibraryLinkNJ is a member-focused organization with a reputation for providing effective continuing education, strong outreach services, high-level support for innovative technologies, and statewide delivery to its multi-type library membership. The Cooperative has over 1100 voting representatives from over 2,000 public and private school, public, academic, institutional, corporate, health sciences and special libraries and library-related agencies. A member-elected Executive Board meets monthly to oversee the programs and services of the organization. The ED <span style='letter-spacing:-.05pt'>works with the Executive Board and members of the Cooperative in the development and implementation of programs to enhance library services in New Jersey; manages the headquarters office; makes recommendations to the Executive Board concerning the hiring of office staff; and supervises and motivates staff in accordance with policies adopted by the Executive Board. The Executive Director works collaboratively with the New Jersey State Library and drafts the annual strategic initiatives and budget for review and approval. The ED also serves as a liaison to local, county, state and national library organizations and is dedicated to </span>“Moving Forward Together.” “</span>LibraryLinkNJ empowers libraries to serve their clientele more effectively and enhances the value of member libraries to their communities.”</span><span class=CharacterStyle5><span style='font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'><o:p></o:p></span></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;text-align:justify'><b><span style='font-size:10.5pt'>Qualifications.</span></b><span style='font-size:10.5pt'> Required qualifications include an <span class=CharacterStyle5><span style='letter-spacing:-.05pt'>M.L.S. degree from an A.L.A. accredited institution and ten years of professional library experience, including three years of experience in an </span>administrative/managerial position in a library, nonprofit organization or private corporation. Additional qualifications include a comprehensive knowledge of library and networking services and trends, experience reporting to a governing Board, and a strong commitment to the evolving role of technology in the successful management of organizations and in library services.
