<p class="MsoNormal">The Library of Michigan is extending its search for a Library Law Consultant – Library Consultant 14. The successful candidate will have considerable knowledge of legal issues and laws pertaining to the current administration, organization
and operation of libraries of all types as well as legal issues and law pertaining to libraries in Michigan.

<p class="MsoNormal"><b>Job Description<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">This position provides support and consultation to library staff throughout Michigan and participates as a team member for statewide library services. Specifically, this positions provides general consultation with a specialization in legal
issues and laws related to libraries for the Michigan library community. The position coordinates statewide activities for the Library of Michigan, including presentation of educational programs and the creation of resources related to legal issues and general
library management. This position provides departmental staff with information and advice on legal issues of libraries. Extensive independent judgment and interpretation is required to carry out assignments that have impact on libraries in Michigan as well
as services or programs provided by Library of Michigan. The position represents the Library of Michigan at state and national levels, participate in pertinent professional associations and acquires continuing education essential to carry out job responsibilities.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">ALA-accredited Master’s Degree in Library Science and three years of administrative or consultative, professional, librarian experience, including one year equivalent to a Library Consultant P13.<br>

<p class="MsoNormal">Ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate and membership in good standing with the Michigan State Bar.<br>
