<p style="color: rgb(17, 17, 17); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 130%; margin: 1em 0px;">First, SLIS is offering a variety of New Student Scholarships which will cover approximately three LIS courses. These scholarships focus on innovative thinking, diversity, and a dedication to urban, underserved communities. Each assistantship provides a full tuition scholarship (up to 36 credits) for a master’s degree in library and information science (MLIS), plus an annual stipend and health insurance. <p style="color: rgb(17, 17, 17); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 130%; margin: 1em 0px;">The application deadline for both the scholarships and GSA positions is <strong>June 1</strong>.</p><p style="color: rgb(17, 17, 17); font-family: Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; line-height: 130%; margin: 1em 0px;">Third, in partnership with the Detroit Area Library Network (DALNET) and the Suburban Library Cooperative (SLC), SLIS will offer eight $6,000 scholarships to paraprofessional employees of the cooperatives who are pursuing their MLIS degrees. These scholarships would give each recipient $1000 tuition remission per semester, over six semesters, while pursuing the 36-credit MLIS. </p>
