<p><font size="2">The results of the request for 1.25 mills for 8 years by the Clarkston Independence District Library are as follows:<br>
<br>
Yes: 5494 (68.18%)<br>
No: 2564 (31.82) <br>
<br>
Not only does this millage provide our library with stable funding for the next 8 years, it also completes the final step in re-establishing this library as a District Library, thus releasing our library from being trapped under a law that was repealed in 1976.<br>
<br>
This has been quite a journey for us. I am grateful to our Library Board, Friends, Staff and community for seeing this through, as well as to the library community who is always available with wisdom and support.<br>
