Greetings MI-SPI 2.0 Members! Today’s email has two purposes:

Based on the findings of the survey, and follow-up discussion at the most recent Steering Committee meeting, the MI-SPI 2.0 Steering Committee recommends the group move retention data to Gold Rush. The cost for making the move is $900
per library for institutions with up to 1 million records. This is a yearly charge. Moving retention records to Gold Rush gives libraries access to the group data for assessment and comparison. While all retention data for each participating library has
been saved, there is currently no way for libraries to review, compare and work with the group data. Visit the
Gold Rush website for more information. Along with discussing Gold Rush, the option of moving MI-SPI 2.0 from MCLS to the Eastern Academic Scholars’ Trust (EAST) was considered by the Steering Committee.
One benefit to moving to Gold Rush is that it would enable MI-SPI to align with
EAST
more seamlessly in the future if that is a direction the group wishes to explore. We can schedule a meeting with EAST staff so the MI-SPI community can learn more about how other statewide/consortial groups work with EAST. For now, the focus is on
moving data to Gold Rush.

interested in making the move, a session with Gold Rush will be scheduled.

As you probably know, I am retiring on November 1, 2024. The new MCLS eLicensing and Collection Resources (eLCR) Manager, Sarah Beaubien, will lead MI-SPI moving forward. Sarah’s experience with MI-SPI during her tenure at
Grand Valley State University is a great asset and will serve the group well! It has been a pleasure working with MI-SPI 2.0 over the past five years and I wish the group continued success.
